Weary

Reflect

Not every day carries the beauty of a breathtaking sunrise or moments worth remembering. Some days arrive heavy with cold, gray skies, drizzle, and silence. The same goes for life. Not every day will be filled with joy or peace. Hardship often shows up uninvited. It’ll press, erode, and wear you down the same way these old fortress walls have endured centuries of weathering.

Life chips away at us slowly, quietly, and relentlessly. There are days when the weight becomes so heavy that giving up feels like our only option. These are the low moments we, as “perfect” people, rarely talk about or post about; the moments when you question your strength and the purpose of your existence, when whispers of failure begin to overtake your faith.

In the quiet moments of struggle, it’s remarkable how God moves. He often sends subtle, steady reminders that he is near; it could be a verse you haven't read in a while that appears on your Bible app. Or maybe someone speaks a word they didn’t know you needed. Perhaps, even a song that comes on the radio that instantly settles your spirit when everything around you feels scattered. A scripture that I hold close rose in my heart after a tough week, Galatians 6:9 ESV: “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” My life has been complex, unpredictable, and at times burdensome. There are seasons when I feel like wandering through the wilderness with no compass, clarity, or strength left to continue, yet God’s promise always seems to appear and cut through my fog. Here’s what I realized after surviving what seemed to be life-altering disaster after disaster: The weight of life is real, but God’s presence is stronger. Your current season may be harsh, but the promise still stands, and the cracks in your walls are not proof of failure. They’re proof that you have survived everything meant to break you. So here’s the reminder I needed, and now it’s yours: Don’t grow weary. Don't surrender to the heaviness hovering over your life. Don’t allow the exhaustion of the season to convince you to stop sowing good seeds. Stand firm on the solid ground of God’s promises, because He has never failed to honor a harvest in its appointed time. Keep going. Keep doing good. Keep pressing forward. Because in due season, your season, you will reap what you have sown. God is faithful.
